世界亚裔小姐选美大赛是由美国国际商会(AICC)拥有的国际知名品牌，也是每年主办的世界上最负盛名的选美比赛之一，通过大赛在世界范围内选拔、评估和推广世界亚裔小姐大赛的获胜者是亚裔妇女的杰出代表。她们的外表形象、才华和精神上的东方美是亚裔女性整体特征的缩影，也是全世界亚裔民族的共同骄傲。目前，已成功举办过29届。第30届世界亚裔小姐总决赛将于2018年12月8日在洛杉矶千禧酒店举行。
今年世界亚裔小姐大赛中国赛区已于今年9月和10月分别在沈阳和成都成功举行了分赛区总决赛。11月11日，中国总决赛在北京成功举行。
一年一度的世界亚裔小姐选美大赛已经在亚洲及中国成为最著名的选美比赛。通过选美大赛，展示了美国亚裔民族文化的多样性，以及亚裔女性既有共同特征又有鲜明特征的魅力。该比赛是一个巨大的公共文化活动，2018世界亚裔小姐大赛的全部赞助和门票收益，都将捐赠给501(c)(3)非营利性文化教育研究机构——联盟智库(CIE)，帮助实现“亚洲青年文化创新创业志愿者项目”的公益事业，促进少数民裔文化的创新创业研究合作与交流。

On Friday, March 16, 2018, the President signed into law:
H.R. 294, which designates a facility of the United States Postal Service as the Endy Nddiobong Ekpanya Post Office Building;
H.R. 452, which designates a facility of the United States Postal Service as the Specialist Jeffrey L. White, Jr. Post Office;
H.R. 535, the “Taiwan Travel Act,” which encourages visits between officials of the United States and Taiwan at all levels;
H.R. 3656, which establishes a consistent applicability date for eligibility of certain persons for VA-provided memorial headstones and markers; and
S. 831, which designates a facility of the United States Postal Service as the Police Officer Scott Bashioum Post Office Building.

President Donald J. Trump applauds the House for passing H.R. 4909, the STOP School Violence Act of 2018, an important step towards keeping American students safe.
This legislation helps protect our Nation’s youth and educators by authorizing State-based grants that will support evidence-based violence prevention programs. It is critical that we strengthen our laws in order to aid our law enforcement, address the needs of individuals struggling with serious mental illness, and develop proactive strategies for identifying and preventing violence in schools.
This Administration is pleased with the progress we have made toward securing our schools over the last few weeks alone, and looks forward to working with the Senate to protect America’s students.

SACRAMENTO Nov 02, Governor Edmund G. Brown Jr. issued the following statement on the Republican tax proposal released today:
“The hurried tax proposal unveiled by Congress today transfers income from individuals and families to large and powerful corporate structures. This is bad economic policy and bad for the American people.”
Last week, Governor Brown sent a letter calling on California’s 14 House Republicans to do what’s right for California and their constituents and held a media call with New York Governor Andrew M. Cuomo to discuss the potentially devastating impacts of the proposed elimination of state and local tax deductions.
President Donald J. Trump spoke today with President Xi Jinping of China, on the occasion of the closing of China’s Party Congress, to welcome continued cooperation of the two countries in the years ahead. President Trump told President Xi he looks forward to visiting China in early November, and to advancing joint efforts to denuclearize North Korea.
As was announced on September 29, 2017, President Donald J. Trump will travel to Japan, the Republic of Korea, China, Vietnam, the Philippines, and Hawaii, from November 3-14, 2017. This update provides further details about the President’s itinerary.
The President’s travel will underscore his commitment to longstanding United States alliances and partnerships, and reaffirm United States leadership in promoting a free and open Indo-Pacific region.
On November 3, the President will visit Hawaii and receive a briefing from the U.S. Pacific Command. He will visit Pearl Harbor and the USS ARIZONA Memorial.
The President will commence his visit to Asia beginning with Japan on November 5. While in Japan, President Trump will meet with American and Japanese service members, and participate in bilateral meetings with Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, who will also host the President for a meeting with the families of Japanese citizens abducted by the North Korean regime.
During his visit to the Republic of Korea on November 7, the President will participate in a bilateral meeting with President Moon Jae-in and visit American and South Korean service members. The President will speak at the National Assembly, where he will celebrate the enduring alliance and friendship between the United States and the Republic of Korea, and call on the international community to join together in maximizing pressure on North Korea.
On November 8, President Trump will arrive in Beijing, China for a series of bilateral, commercial, and cultural events, including meetings with President Xi Jinping.
The President will travel to Danang, Vietnam, on November 10. There, he will participate in the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Economic Leaders’ Meeting and deliver a speech at the APEC CEO Summit. In the speech, the President will present the United States’ vision for a free and open Indo-Pacific region and underscore the important role the region plays in advancing America’s economic prosperity. On November 11, the President will travel to Hanoi, Vietnam for an official visit and bilateral engagements with President Tran Dai Quang and other senior Vietnamese leaders.
President Trump will arrive in Manila, Philippines, on November 12 to participate in the Special Gala Celebration Dinner for the 50th Anniversary of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). On November 13, the President will celebrate the 40th anniversary of U.S.-ASEAN relations at the U.S.-ASEAN Summit and participate in bilateral meetings with President Rodrigo Duterte of the Philippines and other leaders.
President Donald J. Trump proudly welcomed the 2017 Stanley Cup Champions, the Pittsburgh Penguins, to the East Room of the White House on Tuesday. President Trump entered the cheering room with First Lady Melania Trump and Penguins’ co-owners Ron Burkle and Mario Lemieux.
The scene was a jovial one as the Stanley Cup was brought into the room to an eager audience chanting “let’s go Pens.” The first ever back-to-back Stanley Cup champions followed shortly after to receive the cheers of the crowd as well as the President’s praise. “Do you think you’re going to be back here next year?” President Trump asked. The crowd responded with more cheers.
“While you’re dominant on the ice, the heart of the organization and its commitment to Pittsburgh shines just as brightly off the ice,” the President stated. He continued to highlight the number of great causes that the Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation supports. Over a million dollars in grants were awarded to local charities just last season and their annual food drive provides thousands of pounds of food as well as tens of thousands of dollars to local community food banks. The Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation supports many other efforts to give back to the Pittsburgh community that welcomes their team.
President Trump stated that the Penguins “embody the values of dedication, discipline, and hard work,” while also taking the time to acknowledge those same qualities in the first responders aiding in the aftermath of the Las Vegas shooting, relief efforts following Hurricanes Harvey, Irma, Maria, and Nate, and the battle against fires consuming California’s wine country. “They’ve been incredible,” said the President recognizing their hard work and dedication to their Nation through times of terrible tragedy.
“Just as much as your five Stanley Cup wins, your generosity has shown the true character of this incredible organization,” President Trump told the Penguins. “You are true, true champions and incredible patriots.”
MBDA National Director David Hinson, along with a 27-member delegation of U.S. corporate executives and minority-owned businesses, recently completed a China Business Opportunity Trade Mission to Beijing, Tianjin and Shanghai. The goal of the trade mission was to meet with potential corporate, government and university partners and attend the Minority Supplier Development (MSD) China Summit and Business Opportunity Fair.
The trip was organized by the National Minority Supplier Diversity Council (NMSDC) to foster business relations between American corporate and minority-owned businesses, corporate members of MSD China, and Chinese ethnic minority businesses that are not a part of the Han Chinese majority in China and Taiwan.
Director Hinson was a keynote speaker at the MSD China Summit and Business Opportunity Fair, held Sept. 1-2 at the Tasly International Conference Center in Tianjin. In his remarks, he encouraged participants to join in helping minority suppliers gain more business opportunities within the global economy.
The annual event brought together 80 corporate executives, minority supplier development professionals and purchasing executives, along with a host of Chinese and U.S. government officials, and about 100 minority business owners from China and the U.S. The Summit also included several delegations from ethnic minority regions within China.
“Among those core values that citizens of the United States and China share is the belief that we owe our success to the ingenuity, intellect and creativity of our people,” Hinson said.
Over the course of the two days, the Summit provided a forum for an exchange of ideas and included workshops onBusiness Opportunities with Multinational Corporations; Starting a Business in China: Practical Advice from Experts; How Traditional Chinese Medicine Goes International; and The Development of Chinese Ethnic Minorities and Chinese Minority Business Enterprises.
MSD China is the country’s first, national non-profit membership organization dedicated to enhancing the development of the 56 non-majority Chinese ethnic groups in business by connecting minority suppliers to corporations for procurement opportunities on a mutually beneficial basis.
The U.S. delegation attending the event included representatives from Dell, IBM, United Technologies Corporation, The Boeing Company, Hewlett-Packard Company, Marriott International, Inc., Merck, PepsiCo, and several minority businesses and leaders from the NMSDC. The China trade mission ran from Aug. 29 through Sept. 5.
Director Hinson’s time in China also included meetings in Beijing to discuss MBDA’s globalization program and objectives, investment opportunities in China, and current merger and acquisition trends. In addition, he met with the School of Continuing Education at Tsinghua University for an overview of its globalization program and to discuss minority business enterprise matching and the possibility of a joint program between Tsinghua and U.S. universities.
The Business Opportunity Trade Mission is a part of MBDA’s ongoing efforts to create access for minority businesses and broaden domestic and global opportunities through strategic partnerships.
President Donald J. Trump spoke today with President Xi Jinping of China to discuss North Korea’s September 3 test of a powerful nuclear device. The two leaders condemned North Korea’s latest provocative and destabilizing action and noted North Korea’s current path is dangerous to the world and not in its own interest. President Trump and President Xi committed to strengthen coordination and take further action with the goal of achieving the denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula.

The Bureau of Economic Analysis today released statistics detailing the amount and type of new direct investments made in the United States by foreign investors in 2016, 2015 and 2014. The data released today includes information on investments broken out by industry, state and type of investment made – creating a new U.S. business or acquiring or expanding an existing one.
Business people, economists, researchers and policymakers can use the data to help them assess the impact of foreign direct investment on the U.S. economy and state economies. The data also help foreign entrepreneurs and others seeking to invest in the United States make informed business decisions. Additionally, the data inform national and state policymakers who shape programs to attract foreign direct investment.
Expenditures by foreign direct investors to acquire, establish, or expand U.S. businesses were $373.4 billion in 2016, down $66.2 billion, or 15 percent, from $439.6 billion in 2015.
Expenditures for acquisitions were $365.7 billion, expenditures to establish new U.S. businesses were $5.6 billion, and expenditures to expand existing foreign-owned businesses were $2.2 billion.
Total greenfield investment expenditures—expenditures to either establish a new U.S. business or to expand an existing foreign-owned U.S. business—for investments initiated in 2016 which include both first-year expenditures and planned spending in other years, totaled $22.0 billion.
Employment at newly acquired, established, or expanded foreign-owned businesses in the United States was 480,800 employees.
With this release, the Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) is introducing statistics on planned and actual expenditures for greenfield investments. The new statistics are available on BEA’s website.
