Aim of the Confederation Institute of Education
The Confederation Institute of Education ( CIE) offers industry-specific, executive development programs designed to develop essential skills and to build effective and profitable organizations. Programs provide participants with up-to-date theory and practice in such areas as strategy, marketing, finance, operations, and management. In addition to a varied curriculum of lectures by distinguished CIE faculty, many programs allow participants to receive individualized consultative assistance to confront issues facing today’s enterprises.
CIE is governed by a Board of Trustees and led in conjunction with a senior administrative team responsible for managing institutional operations through administrative units and institute. Additionally, the Academic Senate and Professional Student Senate have power to make studies, reports and recommendations to the president in matters pertaining to their constituencies.
All certificate programs offers a distinct bundle of courses that span business entrepreneurship courses and the curricula of several programs and courses at CIE. It emphasizes skills in entrepreneurship, creativity, and innovation along with the ability to analyze the role of entrepreneurship in society.
Entrepreneurship in this context refers to the process of imagining opportunities and taking action to create value through new ventures. The ability to create value through new ventures is a crucial life skill. Further, new firm creation can be a critical factor in global economic growth, and entrepreneurial capabilities can be crucial in bringing new technologies and services to society.
Mission
Provide entrepreneurial knowledge and skills to undergraduate students who plan to work with or become entrepreneurs at graduation or in the future.
A total of 15-100 hours is required to complete the certificate. The required foundation course, advanced entrepreneurship coursework, and electives from across the campus are used to earn the 15-100 hours. Coursework options available for fulfilling the certificate program is shown in the accompanying table. All AICC membership students are strongly encouraged to participate in related non-credit entrepreneurship immersion experiences such as competitions and student organizations.
Students will:
1) take one three credits required foundation course,
2) choose at least three additional credits from a list of related CIE advanced entrepreneurship coursework, and
3) select up to nine credits of additional courses from a list of other elective coursework or advanced entrepreneurship coursework.

Other Elective Coursework
The International Eudcation Center for Entrepreneurial Studies established the Center for Research in Entrepreneurship, Business Development, and Innovation, to organize conferences and disseminate information based on the latest management research.
CIE develops and executes academic conferences, research papers, and oral histories. Four of these efforts are the Entrepreneurial Symposium in Entrepreneurship and Business Development, the Entrepreneurial Symposium for the Study of Family-Owned Businesses, Entrepreneurs of the West: An Oral History Program, and the Family and Closely Held Business Program.
Prior Learning Assessment
Did you know that you can earn many of your credits toward your associate or your degree at less than half the cost per credit? CIE allows you to apply relevant learning, work and life experiences toward college credits through the prior learning assessment process.
Save time and money by applying your past experience toward a certifications
You may be able to fulfill some elective, interdisciplinary and/or general education courses by going through the process. To be eligible for training credits, you must be a successful entrepreneurs or corporate staff or student who has already been accepted into CIE certifications programs. In addition, you must have submitted your transcripts or a curriculum vitae to the CIE, and you must have remaining general education or performance evaluation by CIE adviser required to earn your certifications.

How to qualify for certifications credits
There are two ways to qualify:
1.Create a Professional Training Portfolio.
This portfolio will include a description of an institutional or corporate training course, the date it was completed, number of hours of training and other essential information, such as a course description. 2.Write an experiential learning essay on an approved topic.
Experiential essays must be selected from a list of approved topics and written in experiential learning model, which shows how knowledge has been gained from concrete experience, reflection, theory and application.
